This is the card that started it all.

When asked by my friend Amy (artist and maker, @margiebellatextile) to make a card for her to give as part of a gift, I created one in a style I knew I should explore further. That, and her kind nudges of encouragement, led to the creation of YeLLOW CANOE Paper Co.
As for the name, it is a subtle nod to my mom, who had more than a subtle influence in my life. Her yellow canoe matched her disposition perfectly - cheerful and bright, always open to discovery and adventure.
My mom taught me to find joy and take delight in the simple things in life. Among the voices of loved ones cheering me on (you know who you are!), my mom's still sounds clearly in my head and heart.

From design to the final stitch, each card is made with this intention: to fill the recipient with a joyful delight. After all, a handwritten note inside a handmade card is one of those simple things in life that holds so much meaning and love.
